Poker (Five-Card Draw)
- Objective: Win the 'pot' (all bets) by having the highest-ranking hand or by being the last player left after all others 'fold'.
- Players: 2-7, using a standard 52-card deck.
- From high to low: Royal Flush, Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, One Pair, High Card.
- Setup: Players typically pay a small, forced bet called an 'ante' to join the round. Each player is dealt 5 cards face down.
- Betting Round 1: The first player (left of the dealer) starts. They can 'check' (bet $0, if no bet before them), 'bet' (place a wager), 'call' (match a previous bet), 'raise' (increase a previous bet), or 'fold' (discard their hand and exit the round).
- The Draw: After the first betting round, players (starting left of the dealer) can discard 0 to 5 cards from their hand and are dealt new ones from the deck to replace them.
- Betting Round 2: A final betting round occurs, starting with the first active player left of the dealer.
- Showdown: If two or more players remain after the final bet, they reveal their hands. The player with the highest-ranking 5-card hand wins the entire pot.
