Cribbage
- Objective: Be the first player to score 121 points, tracked by moving pegs on a cribbage board.
- Setup (2 Players): Deal 6 cards to each. Each player discards 2 cards face-down into the 'Crib', which belongs to the dealer.
- The Cut: The non-dealer cuts the deck. The dealer flips the top card (the 'Starter Card'). If it's a Jack, the dealer immediately pegs 2 points ('His Heels'). This card is *not* used in the first phase of play.
- Phase 1: 'Pegging': Players alternate playing one card at a time, announcing the running total (Cards: K, Q, J = 10; Ace = 1). The total *cannot* exceed 31.
- Pegging Points (Score Immediately): 15: 2 points for making the total 15. Pair: 2 points for matching the previous card. Pair Royal (3 of a kind): 6 points. Double Pair Royal (4 of a kind): 12 points. Run (3+ cards): 1 point per card in the run (e.g., 4, 6, 5 = 3 points for the player who played the 5).
- 'Go': If you can't play without exceeding 31, say 'Go'. The other player must play if they can. The last player to play a card gets 1 point ('Last Card'), or 2 points if they hit 31 *exactly*. The count then resets to 0.
- Phase 2: 'The Show' (Scoring Hands): After all cards are played, score hands in order: Non-dealer, Dealer's Hand, Dealer's Crib. The 'Starter Card' *now* counts as a 5th card in each hand.
- Scoring 'The Show': 15: 2 points for each combo of cards adding to 15. Pair: 2 points. Run (3+ cards): 1 point per card. Flush: 4 points if all 4 hand cards are one suit; 5 points if the Starter also matches. (Crib flushes *must* include the Starter for 5 points; 4-card flushes don't count). His Nobs: 1 point for holding the Jack *of the same suit as the Starter Card*.
- Winning: The dealer alternates each round. The first player to peg 121 points or more wins.
